The Mid-Maine folk foursome Generations - Leslie Hemberger, Joel Gold, Larry Latour, and new member David Mussey - feature a variety of rousing and poignant songs in the style of Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, and Pete Seeger. David Musey replaces our wonderful soprano, Kathy Sikkema, off galivanting around the USA with her poodle Neesa. Their mix of guitar, banjo, mandolin, concertina, and four part harmonies is guaranteed to get you singing and stomping your feet to your old favorites, from 'This Land is Your Land' to 'Loch Lomond'. Listen to their CD and buy Generations: Live At The Loft, 20 great songs reminiscent of the Almanac Singers and the Weavers. The group's cross-generational philosophy and dedication to music of the working people has earned it the role of feature band for the University of Maine Center on Aging.

Come and join us Friday, January 21st, 2005 for a folk music benefit for Michelle Alexander. Michelle was a professor in the University of Maine Department of Psychology, but died tragically in a car accident last January. The concert will be held in 100 Donald P. Corbett Hall on the University of Maine Campus in Orono. Donations are $10.00, $5.00 for students.
